About

What to expect

RTRFM brings you POSTCARDS FROM THE WEST, an audio-visual exploration of WA history.

RTRFM has teamed up with the State Library of Western Australia and the Perth International Jazz Festival to bring you a truly unique event: Postcards from the West.

Join us as some of the state’s finest musical talents dig into some unseen film archives of the State Library, showcasing our incredible history and composing brand-new soundtracks for the footage, to be performed live at Camelot Cinema, Mosman Park on Saturday 21 September.

Catch the ambient guitar magic of Jameson Feakes, the otherworldly wonder of Great Statue, the experimental sounds of Pale Ribbons Tossed into the Dark and the synth mastery of Slow Point.

These four eclectic and innovative West Australian acts are all renowned for their boundary-pushing approaches to sound, and will all bring their distinctive sonic styles to these newly composed scores for archival film footage from the state library’s collections.

From the views from the south, to its shimmering, expansive coastlines; from the elements that have forged it, to the people that have shaped Western Australia into a truly magical state, the State Library’s collections will be brought to new life as part of this audio-visual performance.

Grab your tickets now from rtrfm.com.au. They are strictly limited and will sell out.

Gold Subscribers (limited) and Companion Card Holders can enter for free.
