HERSTORY on RTRFM: Lee Musumeci
For as long as she can remember Lee Musumeci had a calling to become a teacher with a focus on children with disabilities.
Through her dedication to the improvement of students’ learning and wellbeing, the Principal of Challis Community Primary School has achieved amazing feats in the education sector.
With the implementation of music programs at her school in Seville Grove, Lee has changed the school community’s outlook on the importance of music in education. Musumeci’s strong focus on First Nation and disability learning has also transformed the way educators approach student support; from the beginning of their education following through to the workforce.
Musumeci has seen the education sector change and evolve throughout her years as a teacher and principal. She hopes for positive change to continue between teachers and students into the future.
Lee Musumeci was inducted in the Western Australia Women’s Hall of Fame in 2019.
In this episode of HERSTORY on RTRFM, Lee Musumeci speaks to Taylah Strano about the importance of learning to read, play and the joy of music.
