Indymedia on RTRFM – 24 May 2021

On this week’s episode, Indymedia cover the School Strike for Climate movement.  Students and their supporters gathered in Supreme Court Gardens on Friday, May 21, taking particular aim at both the state and federal government’s so called gas led recovery plan. Indymedia spoke to Amy, one of the organisers from the School Strike for Climate, about the movement.

Also on the program, Indymedia heard from Australian Palestinians, who participated in a demonstration over the weekend in the solidarity and support of the Palestinian people. Hundreds of people have been murdered in Gaza during the 11 day Israeli bombardment of the besieged territory. Indymedia’s Alex Whisson was at the Perth protest, speaking to those that had come out in support of the Palestinian cause.

Also speaking to Indymedia was Jael, an activist from the newly-formed Melbourne group Jews Against Zionism. Jews Against Zionism organised a demonstration to counter a rally organised by pro-Israeli supporters, in order to challenge the narrative that all Jews support Zionism.
