Indymedia on RTRFM – 25 July 2022

In this special edition of Indymedia, host Ray Grenfell takes a deep dive into the expansion of The Burrup Hub and it’s impact on Murujuga National Park in WA’s North West.

He speaks with Scarborough Gas Action Alliance activist Gerard Mazza about the campaign to protect cultural heritage of scared sites on Yindjibarndi Country. They unpack the EPA decision to expand the hub by another 50 years despite warnings from experts it could add more than 4 billion tonnes of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.

Plus, we hear Pilbara traditional owners Patrick Churnside, Josie Alec and Raelene Cooper speak about the cultural significance of Murujuga at this month’s gas hub protest outside Parliament House.

You can hear more about climate action in WA, including the SGAA here.
