Understorey: Horizons~Digging the Past for Future Food

Understorey: Horizons is our autumn season of curated programs from the Understorey sound-rich back catalogue. Thanks to author and historian Bruce Pascoe, we are beginning to understand that Aboriginal people cultivated a range of endemic crops for tens of thousands of years, being productive over larger areas than our present-day agricultural land, and in harmony with the environment.  In 2017 Pascoe reminded Understorey listeners to consider the past and how we arrived at this turning point, recovering lost skills, and regaining forgotten foods domesticated to Australian conditions over thousands of generations of care.
