Get to know Connor Kiss

I love presenting because you’re involved in this amazing community of presenters who all share the same passion in local talent, stories and the arts. Because of this, it has been such a joy to co-host shows with presenters as you get to discuss on air about the carefully curated music being played, and the interesting stories and facts behind them. It truly beats any sort of digital algorithm out there.

Outside of RTRFM I look at trains, obsess over cycling, and drink drip coffee.

How did you become involved in the station?

I became involved in the station from falling in love with RTRFM while I was homesick studying in Hong Kong. I would listen in regularly to get my content of home (Boorloo) whilst being abroad, and I thought after my studies I’d love to get involved in some way.

I later started doing the phones for Radiothon and decided it was finally time to do the course and play music that deserves to be shared with passionate listeners across the world.

Tell us about your most memorable gig, either attending or playing at?

My most memorable gig was seeing Prince do his solo piano show back in 2016 at Perth Arena. It was a spiritual experience where he was able to get every member in the audience to sing, clap and dance along to all of his hits. My dad included, which was a welcoming surprise to me.

A special mention was seeing my favourite band my bloody valentine perform in Tokyo in 2018. It was so loud that my whole body was shaking and my heart was pounding in immense pain, and pleasure.
