On Air : Listen

I’m a music nerd first and foremost; a DJ and producer too. My taste varies wildly and has done so for as long as I can remember – from post-rock to electro, from hip-hop to new wave. I’ve always loved sharing music with people, cherishing the emotional resonance of the sounds we hear.

How did you become involved?

At the end of 2017 I took the presenter course after speaking with Will Backler – then I kind of jumped in head first! After a few months cutting my teeth on overnight shows, I started volunteering and helping Will out with his role as Music Coordinator; now I’ve started getting the chance to fill in for some of the incredible hosts of shows like Out To Lunch and Full Frequency.

If stuck on Mars, what five albums could you not go without?

  • Microlith – Dance With Me
  • Recondite – Hinterland
  • Reindeer – Field Reports From The Western Lands
  • Transllusion – The Opening Of The Cerebral Gate
  • Viktor Vaughn – Vaudeville Villain

What is the best thing about being involved with the station?

The incredible community spirit and dedication that everyone here has. Being given the opportunity to meet and interview some very talented people while sharing music on air is pretty great too!

What is the strangest thing that has happened to you in the RTRFM studio?

Late night calls into the studio can be pretty interesting; that said, it’s great to know that people are listening at all hours!

If you could present a show that is not your own, which show would it be? Why?

I feel like I’d love to go on just about every show at least once! But to be able to have my very own Full Frequency or Out To Lunch show would be an absolute dream.
