Say hello to

Elle Cee

I’ve been called the human Shazam and somehow know every word to any Y2K era pop song. I love music trivia and pop culture lore.

About

Get to know Elle Cee

I love discovering and sharing all kinds of music, new and old as well as expanding my own personal taste. I’m an avid hoarder (I use the term archivist!) of vinyl and memorabilia particularly involving female fronted bands. Outside of the station I’ve played in various bands and enjoy writing and recording my own music. I first heard about RTRFM through local street press when I would obsessively wait for each weeks issue of X-Press and Drum Media on a Thursday and devour each issue.

How did you become involved in the station?

I was interviewed by Caitlin Nienabar in 2015, when she was the host of Breakfast with a band I was playing in at the time. Being in the studio and seeing how it worked opened a whole new world for me. I then went and took part in the training course with Sarah Tout as my teacher. Eventually I started presenting on overnights shows and have been presenting ever since.

Tell us about your most memorable gig, either attending or playing at?

I remember at an early Laneway festival when it was still hosted near the Art Gallery, seeing Daniel Johnston just sitting there playing guitar. His performance felt so stark and like he was just singing to himself. That was really unique and special.

What is your favourite show (other than your own) on RTRFM?

Breakfast with Pam.
