Get to know Hugh

I love RTRFM and it’s “Many Styles of Many Styles” attitude from the first time I heard the station back in the “Days of Genge”. The uniqueness of the station and its listeners is what drives me to present at silly o’clock for The Overnight Collective, when I’m home from FIFOing.

I enjoy sports, traveling, learning, going to gigs, being with family and friends and my obsession is Subbuteo.

How did you become involved in the station?

As a longtime listener and subscriber I volunteered to help set up at Planet Books for one of the first Radiothon OB’s for Breakfast With Barr and was amazed by the magic of it all. So heeded the call up and in 2022 completed the Presenters Training Course and have enjoyed every second of my time ‘on air”.

Tell us about your most memorable gig, either attending or playing at?

The recent Billy Bragg triple night gig at Freo Social was special as seeing Sunnyboys last ever gig at The Enmore in 2023 but my most memorable event was Narrara 1984 with the likes of Talking Heads, INXS, Eurythmics, Hoodoo Gurus, The Pretenders among the artists who played before “here comes the rain, again” washed out the event!
