Get to know Morkel

I can’t place the exact moment in time when I started listening to RTFRM, it sort of seeped effortlessly into my consciousness, but the station has certainly changed my life and made me understand the value of volunteering for a grassroots organisation and the impact music can have on people’s wellbeing. Being able to play and present such a vast array of tunes on the Planet Perth airwaves is such a privilege because the listeners are so passionate about the alternative music scene.

How did you become involved in the station?

I met Will Backler at a house party one night in North Perth and after a chat about dance music he asked if I wanted to do a mix on Basscheck. Safe to say I was pretty stoked. I loved the experience so much I knew I wanted to get more involved with RTR.

DJing B2B at the Basscheck 10 Year Anniversary celebration at Si Paridiso

What is your favourite show (other than your own) on RTRFM?

Ambient Zone.
