Say hello to

Osric Powell

I relocated from London and have beem on a (seemingly never ending) quest to have a more vibrant and diverse DJ led (party vibes) culture in Perth.

About

Get to know Osric Powell

RTRFM was the first (and pretty much only )place I have found solace on the FM dial. It remains independent and thus provides a blank canvas for DJs and presenters to express themselves through music, art and conversation.

That is truly a blessing in this AI-inspired, algorithm-driven world we are embracing! It’s a joy to be involved with the station and I remain passionate about traditional and digital radio, presenting shows and of course, the art of DJíng. Anything that will help to promote DJ-inspired events/venues with dance, interaction, positive vibes, culture and top-notch music will instantly get my attention! In pursuit of that lofty goal, I spend most of my time experimenting with different digital platforms and related initiatives in the hope that there will be a renaissance of club/bar culture in Perth.

How did you become involved in the station?

I was invited by a previous presenter Patrick Nadoll as a guest on the Black and Blue show. Patrick was leaving for Germany so he introduced me to the main man – Chris Wright – who allowed me to join the team. I remain grateful to them both for the opportunity.

Tell us about your most memorable gig, either attending or playing at?

Attending Ezra Pound ere’in Perth is right up there as one of the best vibes I’ve experienced here in Perth. DJíng at various wild nights at Tikki Bar (pre covid) has also been quite the joy ride but I don’t remember too much about it. Sorry not sorry ! Hahahaha

What is your favourite show (other than your own) on RTRFM?

Trainwreck, Giant Steps, Cloudwaves, All City
