Say hello to

Raymond Grenfell

I’m a local muso, organiser and researcher living on Whadjuk Boodjar. I have a healthy distaste for authority and a love for community and solidarity.

About

Get to know Raymond Grenfell

I’ve been at RTRFM since the beginning of Indymedia in 2004. I love the opportunity to ‘give voice to the voiceless’ and create a space for diverse, honest and radical journalism and storytelling.

Outside of RTRFM I play in bands, play as much footy as I can, run a DIY record label, organise gigs, teach at a local University and try and find time to sit on the beach with my dog and horse.

How did you become involved in the station?

I first got involved with RTRfm as a teenage metal head, coming in to occasionally co-host Critical Mass. If my memory serves me correctly, I think it may have even been as work experience for my final year of highschool…

Tell us about your most memorable gig, either attending or playing at?

Too many to list! But in terms of playing gigs, probably touring through Indonesia and playing to hundreds of sweaty Indonesian punks in backyards or ping pong halls, half drunk on moonshine while wild Javanese teenagers moshed harder than I’ve ever seen!

What is your favourite show (other than your own) on RTRFM?

Drivetime and OTL are always good craic.

Love music?

Love RTRFM.
