A Story Of Science Versus Emotion In The Brumby Wars

The sure footed Brumby can be found in Australian folklore from “The Man from Snowy River” to their use in the light horse regiments in WW1, and is seen by many as part of Australia’s national identity. Unfortunately, scientists and biologists have shown us the devastating effect this introduced species is having on the natural environment in Kosciuszko National Park in New South Wales.

Journalist Anthony Sharwood investigates this story of science vs emotion in his new book “The Brumby Wars”, and he joins On The Record’s Jesse Begley to explain how he came to write the book, his experiences along the way, and the importance of solving this issue.
