Alcoa’s bauxite mining in the Jarrah forest risks contaminating Perth’s water supply

Jess Boyce acting director of the WA Forest Alliance has expressed concerns with Madeleine Mitchell as Alcoa continues to mine in the Jarrah forest.

Despite the warnings from the department of water the government gave Alcoa permission to continue mining even though its proves a major risk to Perth’s water supply and the over all ecosystem of Jarrah forest.

Its been shown the Alcoa doesn’t replace the area it mines out to the standard the government accepts meaning that if nothing changes it’s highly likely Jarrah forests ecosystem will collapse.
