Best of Artbeat – 11 February 2022
Welcome to Artbeat!
What a week…Bec Bowman is back with another jam packed episode this Friday, chatting about all things local culture, art and live performance in Perth and across WA.
She is joined by Pilbara Indigenous artist Rusty from Cool Change Contemporary, a multi-gallery artist run initiative in the heart of the CBD, to discuss its latest exhibition Dandy Fleur.
The showcase champions surrealism and thermal art to create colourful and ambiguous dream-like works.
Director Ella Wright also stops by the studio to chat about her debut film Strange Changes as part of the brilliant Perth based theatre company The Last Great Hunt.
The work highlights the ongoing struggle of the everyday Aussie artists, even before the existence of a global pandemic.
Perth based fashion group Wright Collective discuss sustainable fashion in Perth and the importance of changing the way we wear think and feel about fashion.
Wright’s latest collection focuses on zero-waste design and production.
It opens in the Perth CBD this weekend.
