Book Club with Danielle Raffaele

RTRFM bibliofile Danielle Raffaele grabs three First Nations books off the shelf in celebration of NAIDOC Week.

She kicks things off with the paradigm shattering non-fiction, Finding Eliza: Power and colonial storytelling by Larissa Behrendt which tells the story of 19th century settler Eliza Frazer and uses it as the starting point to critique the portrayal of First Nations people across history.

Next, an Australian classic by Melissa Lukashenko called Too Much Lip, a story about the rebellious Kerry Salter who returns home to Bundjalung Country after a period of absence to see her dying pop, only to get swept up in the Native Title disputes, family drama and country town gossip of her home town.

Finally, a bookshelf staple by Stan Grant called Australia Day.

Plus, catch up on the latest news headlines in book
