Bookclub with Danielle Raffaele

Last November, a group of four Melbourne friends curated the Summer Reading for MPs, a booklist from local and international authors about the war on Palestine.

The aim is to inform and cultivate empathy amongst state and federal elites where conversations had been lacking in nuance.

Danielle Raffaele has been making her way through this essential summer reading and caught up with Australian-Lebanese author Sara Haddad whose debut novella The Sunbird is on the list.

They discuss the reaction to the book, it’s journey from self-published novella to indie bestseller and why truth telling has never been more important.
