Bookclub with Danielle Raffaele: Blue Giant

David Bowie famously pondered if there was life on Mars and the protagonist in Blue Giant, the sophomore novel of Jordan Prosser, is pondering the same question.

When Abby Horne’s dream fashion career doesn’t go to plan she decides to audition for a mission to colonise the red planet. She knows this will be her last ditch attempt to find fame and glory and do something with her life, but at what cost?

Blue Giant is a hilarious eulogy for millennial optimism in a world that has pulled the rug out from under young people.

Bookclub’s Danielle Raffaele spoke with Jordan following the release and started by asking him if he grew up interested in space exploration.

Blue Giant is published by UQP.
