Bookclub with Danielle Raffaele: Krank Fuss by Andrew Upton

Krank Fuss is the debut novel by author, playwright and former Artistic Director of the Sydney Theatre Company, Andrew Upton, and its told from the perspective of a chicken.

Told in the mode of Animal Farm, Krank Fuss charts the journey of one of a brood of chooks recently acquired by a World War One veteran from a neighbouring farm and how the dangers and hierarchy within the farm reflect the geopolitics of the time.

RTRFMs Danielle Raffaele spoke with Andrew following the release of Krank Fuss and started by asking him why, after years of working in theatre and producing iconic Australian films, he decided to write a novel.
