Bookclub with Danielle Raffaele: People with Money by Jess Ho

Today, Danielle Raffaele sits down for a special interview with Australia food critic and author Jess Ho about their debut work of fiction, People With Money.

Jess is best known for their 2022 memoir chronicalling their life working in Melbourne’s hospitality industry, Raised by Wolves, or their SBS podcast series Bad Taste.

The book is about the relationship between polar opposite lovers Amy Chan and Edward Smith – a relationship that is lopsided, transactional and arguably doomed from the start, but that shifts their worlds in unexpected ways.

Danielle spoke with Jess for Bookclub following the release of the book and started by asking them about the origin story of their debut novel.
