Capturing Starlight Photography: Chloe Bartram

Currently at the Perth Centre for Photography are two exhibitions, Capturing Starlight and New Voices in Australian Photography. Drawing on the visual and written languages of light, Capturing Starlight comprises archival photography, fieldwork, and artefact to explore the tension between the photographic image as art and evidence.

Chloe Bartram is the artist behind Capturing Starlight and talks to us about art, archives and what this has to do with the 1922 Wallal solar eclipse expedition, where about 100 photographs of the various features were taken in an attempt to settle the Einstein theory and to obtain information regarding the constitution of the corona.
