New project tests wearable sensors to support children with cerebral palsy

Cerebral palsy is the most common movement disorder amongst children and whilst there is currently no cure, the effects can be mitigated by regular movement.

But obtaining a reliable record of movement in some cases is difficult on existing technology platforms like Fitbit or Apple Watch.

Dr Dayna Pool and Professor Catherine Elliott from Curtin’s School of Allied Health and Telethon Kids Institute joined Jeff Bullen for On The Record to chat about new research into the use of wearable tech for young people with cerebral palsy, supporting their long-term health outcomes.
