Co3 remount Douglas Wright’s Gloria with a little help from their friends.

Co3 Contemporary Dance, WASO and the St George’s Cathedral Consort have collaborated to re-visit bold and uncompromising choreographer Douglas Wright’s iconic work GLORIA.

GLORIA was previously presented in WA by Chrissie Parrott Dance Company in 1991 for Perth Festival at the Quarry Amphitheatre.

Megan Adams, from the Douglas Wright Estate, is in Perth to help stage the work, said “the creation of GLORIA marked a turning point in Douglas Wright’s artistic journey, and it is a work of great spirit and historical importance to contemporary dance in New Zealand. Audiences were in awe of the work’s physicality, musicality, and emotional range.”

Megan Adams chats with Bec Bowman for Artbeat.

Gloria!
