Courtney Barnett’s End Of The Day

With 17 improvised tracks, which were originally puzzle pieces arranged differently to make up the score for the documentary ‘Anonymous Club’, Courtney Barnett’s ‘End Of The Day’ prioritises space and atmosphere (and synths!) over traditional song structures and the heart-punch lyrics she’s become known for.

On her latest record, accompanied by regular collaborator/producer Stella Mozgawa (Warpaint), Courtney stops talking and in the silence and improvised sounds found relief and honesty.

Ahead of her Perth Festival shows with Stella, Pam gets on the line with Courtney to talk about the album, the end of Milk! Records and what she likes to do at the end of the day.
