Custard’s Dave McCormack on #VAXTHENATION: “Bandit would be big into vaccinations.”

According to Dave McCormack, his band Custard was busier than a “one-armed fiddler with the crabs” before lockdowns struck the country.

He’s now among the 400-plus artists, performers, tour promoters and members of the live event industry calling to #VAXTHENATION, helping promote the COVID-19 vaccine rollout in the hopes that it’ll stop the interruptions to national gigs and tours.

Get Up Morning’s Josie Hacking caught up with Dave over the phone in Sydney, first, to bluff their way through a conversation about competing AFL and NRL teams, and then to discuss the importance of the #VAXTHENATION campaign.

Josie also asked Dave, who voices Bandit on Bluey, if his animated counterpart will be getting the jab: “Bandit would be big into vaccinations for sure. He loves that stuff! All the Heeler family will be vaccinated within an inch of their lives. It’s the only way out.”
