Debunking Coal Myths with the Grattan Institute

There’s a lot at stake at the next federal election, especially as Australia continues to slowly creep toward it’s Paris Agreement deadline of net zero emissions by 2050.

While it’s clear we need to reduce greenhouse gasses, the Federal Government has remained clear on its stance to protect jobs in the coal and gas industry, particularly in Queensland.

But a recent report by the Grattan Institute has revealed claims that jobs would be impacted by the closure of non-renewable projects were ‘highly exaggerated’ by the Morrison Government.

Grattan Institute Deputy Program Director of Energy and Climate Change Alison Reeve called into Breakfast with Taylah to debunk some of the Government’s recent claims relating to non-renewables and the impact this has on our national narrative surrounding climate change.
