Descent of the International Space Station

Last month we heard the interesting plan to crash the International Space Station into the ocean in 2031, and to some people that came as a surprise.

Since the beginning of its construction in 1998 the station has supported the development of space science and technology.

So how will it crash and what will take its place?

Swinburne University of Technology astrophysicist Dr Sara Webb joined Fiona Bartholomaeus On The Record to discuss how and why the crash will take place.
