Deerhoof are back in Australia to talk creative risk and famous internet cats

Deerhoof is back in Australia for the first time in 10 years, supporting their newest album Miracle-Level.

Deerhoof have been playing since 1994. Despite all living in different cities, they’ve created over nineteen incredible albums, the latest of which came out last year.

Miracle-Level is their first album to be recorded entirely in-studio with producer Mike Bridavski.

Their Aussie tour kicked off earlier this week in Naarm/Melbourne, and they’ll be tearing up Boorloo on Sunday 16 June. Ahead of their show at Milkbar, RTRFM’s Sarah Tout gave drummer and songwriter for the band – the delightful Greg Saunier – a call.

They talk about creative risk, freedom, where inspiration comes from, famous internet cats, and they start off with the indefinable sound of Deerhoof.
