Director Sari Braithwaite on the one-of-a-kind family in her doco Because We Have Each Other

On Tuesday 20 June, filmmaker Sari Braithwaite will be in town for a special Q&A screening of her latest documentary, Because We Have Each Other.

The picture was filmed over five years, and during that time, Sari immersed herself in the world of a blended, neuro-diverse, working class family that is truly one of a kind.

Because We Have Each Other tells the story of Buddha Barnes and Janet Sharrock, as well as their five children, which includes Rebecca, one of only 80 diagnosed people in the world who can remember every single day of their life.

Movie Squad’s Simon Miraudo caught up with Sari Braithwaite ahead of the Luna Leederville Q&A on Tuesday 20 June, and began by asking how she found the Barnes/Sharrock family.
