Dr Sure’s Unusual Practice’s hopeful and rebellious approach to crisis

Dr Sure’s Unusual Practice‘s latest album tackles lofty issues through a hopeful lense, avoiding the often cynical pastiche of modern punk music and inspiring hope in the ability of music and art to effect change.

Total Reality touches on varied influences – proto-punk to post-punk, new wave to no wave, krautrock to trip-hop – concieving something fresh and inspired.

The Naarm/Melbourne-based band  have made their way over to the west coast, and ahead of their shows this weekend band members Jake and Dougal join Pam Boland on Brekky…

The trio get stuck into a few tracks off their newest album Total Reality, and chat about the growth of the band, touring overseas compared to in Australia, state support for the arts, and their record’s hope-filled, rebellious approach to facing the horrors of current reality and ongoing crises.

Find out more information about their upcoming shows here.

Total Reality is out now via Marthouse Records
