EQ50 are working towards fairer representation within the drum and bass community

Header image via EQ50.

EQ50 is a collective of women working towards fairer representation within the global drum and bass community.

Launched in December 2018, the initiative was a response to gender inequality within the drum and bass scene — both on the dance floor and in the DJ booth.

The collective has since launched a successful mentorship program with some of drum & bass’ biggest labels — Ram, Shogun, Critical, Function and V Records — and is now in its second phase of mentorship, pairing emerging with producers with industry mentors.

Alison Bunting, the collective’s gender advisor, joins Dart on Full Frequency to talk about EQ50’s origins, challenges and successes and share a few of her favourite tracks from collective associates.
