Sarah Eves, played by renowned Perth actor Caitlin Beresford-Ord, is a physicist and proud mother of four. She has spent her life fiercely protecting her children – and measuring the distance between the stars. Now the universe has thrown her a challenge she never saw coming. At a family dinner, Sarah has an announcement to make, but not before the trials of her children’s lives have a chance to bubble to the surface in this unflinching tale of dignity, family, love and loss.
With Five Minutes to Midnight, Elisa Williams brings her playwriting home to Perth for the first time, an established director, performer and co-founder of Boss Arts Creative. Drawing on her extensive independent theatre practice, Williams brings a bold new voice to Western Australia’s premier home for new work. Supported by an ensemble cast and production team overflowing with local talent, Five Minutes to Midnight promises a night of thoughtful, moving and powerful Australian theatre.
Five Minutes to Midnight runs Tues-Sat from 6-24 October 2026 at The Blue Room Theatre. All shows start at 8pm.
