Fogarty Literary Award Winner Celebrates Queer Strength

The winner of the Fogarty Literary Award is a manuscript called Glimmers in the Sea Glass, and it’s about two queer characters of different ages and their varying experiences. The author describes this story as being about family and how we define and redefine it, the strength of queer youth and the importance of queer elders to the community. They also describe it as being about how silence creeps into our lives, and how the community can speak it out of existence.

The author of Glimmers in the Sea Glass Chuckie Raven discusses their novel and award with Fiona Bartholomaeus on On The Record.
