FRIDAY MIX: Henny
Host of the newly minted NEST FM, Henny joined us for a round of Friday Mix.
In Henny’s own words, “this mix is inspired by the Noongar season of Makuru. It’s a celebration and honouring of the sounds, sensations, beauty and power of country as it waters itself, ready to grow for another year,”
“The water that falls, the water that runs, the water we drink and the water that cleans does not belong to the immigrant population of Perth (Boorloo). We must work with elders and community to protect water, it’s rivers and it’s puddles and it’s oceans and it’s storms, to ensure the survival of the ones who will come after us.
“The Makuru mix is a tribute to the Blueberry Lillies, the Purple Flags, the Weeping Peppermint, the Scarlett Banksia and of course the almighty Yonga and was recorded on unceded Whadjuk Noongar Boodja.”
