FRIDAY MIX: Long Mac
After selecting all things disco, funk, jazz, afro, and latin across bars in Perth and a residency in Rottnest, I’ve decided to flex my dance music muscles once again.
In this mix I have selected a few relentlessly thumping and brain tickling prog-house songs that capture this fantastic genre which has been perfected within the last few years. And is growing in popularity within the Boorloo music scene.
I start out with a beautiful number by Rüdiger Oppermann’s Harp Attack, followed by German electronic percussionists Wolf Müller & Niklas Wandt’s “Ahu”, artfully re-grooved by Phazer Boys, an enigmatic duo rarely releasing work.
From there, I let go of the wheel, floored it, and saw where it took me, rolling up at Naarm producer (and personal favourite) psytrance, DNB, and prog-house enthusiast Mabel with her song “Miss Demeanor”.
