FRINGE WORLD 2023: Cash Out of Hand

Martin Cash was an Irish convict transported to Australia in the nineteenth century who escaped from the notorious prison at Port Arthur to become a gentleman bushranger, a police killer, and, in retirement, a colonial celebrity with a bestselling autobiography.

His fascinating life story is coming to life at Fringe World 2023. Cash out of Hand: A Convict’s Tale, with Cash’s exploits set to music by traditional Irish band The Har.

Jet Kye Chong is the producer who brought this story together, and also the Har’s percussionist. He joins us On the Record.
