Gothic post-punk finds a new edge on Heartworms’ new album

South London auteur and songwriter Heartworms releases her debut album Glutton for Punishment on February 7.

The follow-up to her acclaimed 2023 EP A Comforting Notion, the record reveals Heartworms (real name Jojo Orme) as a talented stylist and a cutting lyricist. The record is a sonic onslaught that is entirely Heartworms’ own; a spiky confluence of industrial electronics, pop songwriting and post-punk aggression that’s darkly toned but compulsively listenable.

RTRFM’s Emma Lucia & Tim Fairbanks sat down with Jojo ahead of Glutton for Punishment‘s release, asking how she felt about the album’s release.
