Great Statue makes their official debut, releasing four EPs in four weeks

Great Statue is a project by acclaimed Boorloo/Perth based artist Annika Moses — a creative foil to her widely recognised folk indie project Nika Mo.

After years of live sets cementing the butch, drag-king performance-art pop-star character of Great Statue, 2023 saws the project’s first official digital releases, releasing four EPs across four weeks via Rockton Records.

Purposeful Lady, West Coast Blues, Great Lake and GOES BUST were released across the four weeks of January 2023, giddily crossing between new wave, avante-electro-pop, and
experimental ambience effortlessly.

Great Statue joins Drivetime‘s Emma and Tim ahead of their quadruple EP at Pig Melon on January 3 to chat about the inspiration behind the project and the four releases.
