Greatest WA Songs Countdown: See What Made the Top 100
On Friday 1 April, RTRFM celebrated its 45th birthday by counting down the 45 Greatest WA Songs as voted by the public.
More than 17,000 votes were cast by 2,000+ individuals in advance of the special 45th anniversary broadcast, with listeners able to select from a ‘Top 250’ shortlist curated by RTRFM presenters and music industry experts.
However, an additional 681 songs received write-in votes from the public, demonstrating the breadth of incredible WA music that RTRFM has platformed over the decades.
So, if attempting to select and rank the greatest WA songs seemed like a tricky task, containing it to just 45 made it even more difficult. While it would be overkill to list all 931 songs that received votes, we’ve decided to publish the tunes that landed between 46 and 100, narrowly missing out on a spot on the countdown.
