Curiosity and the Cloth – Indian Ocean Craft Triennial

Maggie Baxter, co-curator of IOTA and Curiosity and the Cloth, joins Bec Bowman on Artbeat to talk about the celebration of contemporary craftt that is the Indian Ocean Craft Triennial. Curiosity and the Cloth features First Nations designers from Western Australia & Northern Territory alongside designers from Kenya, India, Malaysia and Thailand. Culture is explored through a variety of traditional craft, surface decoration, shape, environmental sustainability and more. Presented in collaboration with Curtin University School of Design and the Built Environment, supported by Boorla Bardip, WA Museum. A series of other events are available on the IOTA website.
