Elon Musk and a group of artificial intelligence experts are calling for a six-month pause in developing systems more powerful than OpenAI’s newly launched GPT-4, because of ‘potential risks to society’.

WA Data Science Innovation Hub Director, Alex Jenkins, talks about the practicalities of enforcing such a pause and how AIs could be used for social media manipulation and misused for criminal purposes. He points out that AIs are “just software” and that humans are always behind any abuse of this new technology.
