Jonathan Fitzgerald talks ‘Electroluminescence’ on Plucked Strings

Dr Jonathan Fitzgerald, is an American-born Australian classical guitarist who has garnered international recognition as a performer and teacher, whilst maintaining a career at the intersection of performance, heading both the education and artistic research at the University of Western Australia’s Conservatorium of Music.

RTR FM Presenter Graham Hawkes caught up with Jonathan to discuss his upcoming Fringe World show titled ‘Electroluminescence’, which explores the interaction of sound and vision, including unconventional performance techniques, challenging what it means to play the guitar.
