Local Feature Chat: Olie Rundin talks debut solo LP Time Lost

Last month, local drummer, bandleader and music educator Olie Rundin released his solo debut, the original instrumental jazz album Time Lost, via brand new Perth-based record label Nightbiotics.

The record follows his 2018 album Factory Rhythms, recorded and released as part of the Boorloo-based JR Quintet that sits alongside – or in opposition to – a discography of hardcore punk records he’s contributed to while playing as a member of bands such as Gaoled, Total Defeat, Boltgun and Self Harm.

Olie Rundin joins Pam on Brekky to discuss the personal history behind the album, its unique recording process, tape looping, and jazz vs. hardcore drumming.

Sixty Cats will be hosting Time Lost’s Launch Party this Saturday the 8th of March – Free Entry! – with support from Chris Cobilis, performing solo as Failing Backwards, and DJ Pex (more information here).
