Local Feature: Harry Mitchell’s 13th studio album ‘Archetypes’, a wondrous jazz journey

Local pianist, composer and educator Harry Mitchell is a celebrated force within Australia’s jazz scene.

Prolific as ever, the artist has just dropped his 13th Studio album ‘Archetypes‘, a complex medley of improvised jazz sounds inspired by Carl Jung’s theory of Archetypes and which blends the traditions of jazz piano with up-tempo and post-bop jazz.

Mitchell drops by the RTRFM studios to chat with Giant Steps’ Mark Pearson.

The pair discuss all things the new album, its inspirations and more.
