Lyndon Nilsson on food insecurity and Million Meals Day

The cost of living crisis has forced many in our community, especially those who are already economically vulnerable, to make the decision between paying for food and other essential needs and service.

SecondBite, Australia’s leading food rescue organisation is highlighting this issue by marking today with the inaugural event Million Meals Day, aiming to raise enough funds to provide one million meals for vulnerable Australians.

Jeff Bullen is On The Record with Lyndon Nilsson, SecondBite’s WA state manager, to discuss the work SecondBite does to provide food for food insecure Australians, recent YouGov research on food insecurity in Western Australia, how people are dealing with food insecurity under recent economic circumstances, what groups are most vulnerable to food insecurity, and what’s taking place on Million Meals Day to raise awareness and funds.
