Mining the Motherlode with Greg Muller

Motherlode is a gripping story about the local and international law enforcement agencies pursuing young hackers in the 1980s and 1990s in Melbourne as they pushed the boundaries of computer security systems around the world.

Motherlode explores the hacker ethic which developed from this time from the birth of hacktivism to one of the most disruptive websites in the world, Wikileaks.

Journalist Greg Muller is the researcher, writer, producer, and host of Motherlode, a new podcast series looking at the history of Australia’s first hackers, made up of a group of young teenage boys in the suburbs of Melbourne. Among them was a boy called Julian Assange, the world’s most infamous hacker.
