Molly Schmidt’s debut novel Salt River Road an ode to resilience to reconciliation

Over 10 years in the making, Salt River Road is the debut novel by Molly Schmidt, about two siblings grappling with the death of their mother.

The work is set in the Great Southern and draws on the rich history of the Menang, Goreng Noongar people; the traditional custodians of the region.

It’s a story of resilience and reconciliation all set to the soundtrack of 70s rock and roll.

Molly joined Danielle Raffaele in the studio to chat about the journey from TAG Hungerford manuscript to published novel.

Salt River Road is published by Fremantle Press.
