Dureshawar Khan explores migrant motherhood, resilience and language in new work MoR

An ode to motherhood, a thank you note to anyone you’ve ever called mum.

Dureshawar Khans’ new one woman production MoR  grew from observing her mum as an adult during an extended period of time spent together.

Partially performed in her native tongue of Pashto, the performance reflects on the experience of brown motherhood, the language used to frame marginalised women and what it is to be a woman and mother and migrant in modern-day Australia.

Dureshawar stopped by Breakfast with Taylah to unpack MoR and the many layers that come with it.

You can see MoR at The Blueroom Theatre from May 18 – July 5.
