Much needed change: The overhaul of Australia’s migration system

With the failings of the current overly bureaucratic migration system to address a lack of cultural diversity and the skills shortage, the new outline from the Albanese government highlights the benefits the structural reform can bring to Australia, such as addressing the ageing population and a waning productivity growth.

The outline also emphasise the fair and equitable integration of migrants into the economy, and how providing options of permanent jobs will tackle the exploitation crisis migrants currently face.
