My Name Is Gulpilil

David Gulpilil Ridjimiraril Dalaithngu is an iconic figure of Australian cinema, and My Name Is Gulpilil is the story of his life, in his own words.

The only actor to appear in both of the two highest grossing Australian films of all time, Crocodile Dundee and Australia – his mesmerising, electrifying presence has leapt off the big screen and changed Australian screen representation forever.

Now terminally ill, Gulpilil looks back over a 50-year screen career that has unquestionably changed the face of Australian cinema.

His captivating story is captured by director Molly Reynolds, who joins Jeff Bullen in the studio to talk about Gulpilil and about the film. Reynolds will present a special Q&A screening of the movie at Luna Leederville on Tuesday 11 May, with Welcome to Country with John McGuire, and Q&A in the cinema hosted by Kylie Bracknell [Kaarljilba Kaardn].
